Just a Question! ...Plz...?

I know c++ programming. Have just completed a book on c++, have run all its programs. Knows all the basis of this. dont have exprience. CAN I GET JOB ON THE BASIS OF C++? AND WHERE SHOULD I APPLY?

Just a Question! ...Plz...?
since you don't have a degree or anything like that, it's goin to be pretty hard to get any kinda job, what you could do is either build a killer application that no company could do without, and sell yourself that way, or get online, and search for online courses, or certs that'll prove that you know your stuff, good luck, hope ye find a job

Reply:Without a degree it is going to be a tough sell.

There are lots (and by that I mean lots and *lots*) of 4 year college grads that know C++ that are also looking for jobs.

In order to compete, you need one of two things: a degree or experience.

If a degree is out of the question, then try volunteer work for some charity that needs C++ programming done. You will get some experience (and believe me, actually programming is much harder than reading about it), and possibly make some contacts to help you get a job.

Good luck.
Reply:Yes, post your resume on dice.com.

Personally I'd go with C# though.
Reply:work for yourself.. why let anyone get rich off of your knowledge.
Reply:Well, I don't think you can get a strictly-programming job based on what YOU have learned. Without schooling in the field, it may be pretty difficult. But you may be able to find somewhere that doesn't require the education.

I know around here, I haven't seen a software dev. job that DOESN'T require at least 4 yrs. of college (Bachelor's Degree).
