Programming career?

With these criteria, do you think i could get a job working for a big video game company (EX. Bungie, Infinity Ward, EA)? if not, what else would i need to take in College?

im in my second year of college.

I can program in VB and Java. but plan on learning C++ and C#.

I enjoy 2D and 3D design. I can use AutoCad, Solid Edge and BricsCAD. I plan on taking a Catia class.

I also love to play all types of Video games (Sports, shooters, strategy)

Programming career?
Alot of programming is done in C or C++, so be sure to get that under your belt.

If when you start looking, you should have something that you can show them that you have done in the past (ie a small video game you made or something part of a bigger project that you worked on.)

You probably wont be using CAD, but you really should have experience with 3D design (I'm not an expert in that, but get to know what Artists and Graphic Designers use).

Also, in the mean time, go to the web sites of game companies and look at their job postings. That tells you what they are looking for. Here is just an example:

They want people who love games, but not just that. You need to show that you have an eye for detail.

Your first job might either be software testing or junior programmer.

Try hard to get some experience before you graduate.

Working in a computer lab or doing software testing or programming anywhere (even at your school) will help alot and look good when applying.
