What programming language should I learn?

what kind of programming language I should learn to get job as a programmer...FYI I know C/C++...thats all..whatelse is hot now...

What programming language should I learn?
For client side application programs the hot stuff is anything .NET, preferably c# and even vc++.net is doing well. Java is really taking off too.

For server side web programming... PHP hands down is hot. Paired up with MySQL, that technology is really dominating. Perl is there, but slowly dying by the wayside.

For web development, AJAX and straight XML with a sprinkle of DHTML. Its the foundation of the Web 2.0 movement.

Believe me, I have my hands in all three of these categories and I often can't keep up with all the work people want to throw at me. I pretty much can command my own perks and salary because of it.

Hope I helped you out with this.
Reply:Perl would be great, many applications nowerdays are created from this language and structure.
Reply:i suggest u to learn c++
Reply:In terms of "hot," I'd say Java.
Reply:yeah, java is hot because java is client sided scripting language you can also learn SERVER SIDED SCRIPTING language like ASP or PHP or DOTNET.

Whichever suit you.

I'll prefer you PHP because PHP is best to have alot of money in international market.PHP(Hyper Text Preprocessor) is kool. If you know even C or C++ then PHP is nothing for you just you have to get an idea of MySQL Server.

Best of LUCK.
Reply:Perhaps the hottest language at present is Ruby. I myself have'nt tried it out yet but I have heard really good things about it. It's definitely one of the hottest languages though. You can take a peek at this online book http://www.rubycentral.com/book/index.ht... It's quite comprehensive.
