I have a solid-foundation on OOP through my school-level C++ (Sumita Arora) and I have done the complete “Java: How to Program” college-level book on my own, and have also completed many of the practice-sessions online as well as offline without having to have a look at my book. However, I’m still in a high-school in New Delhi, India. Can I get a Java job with my knowledge rather than a degree (because why do I have to invest four years of this uncertain-life when I can already do it NOW |_|)? If yes, where (online/offline) and what will be the pay? Are good Java programmers in shortage?
Can I get a Java programming job without a college-degree?
Most likely no. Programming is a job that requires certain college-related qualifications. These are due to the nature of the job. Someone claiming to know a lot in programming has no way of proving it.
Find a good tech school that offers a Computer Informations System degree. Companies will throw your resume in the trash without at least an associates.

What about people like John Carmack (Doom)? He has no proof? Not qualified? He didn't even finish one year of college.
Still, having a degree certainly helps, a lot. Report It
Reply:Of course Yes, If You Have Knowledge You Can Do, Your Degree Can Not Stop You , But there may be some problems which you have to face, But If you r confident about yourself then only, Your degree shows what you r and if you have no degree then you have to prove
