My major was electrical and computer engineering . I am looking for a technical /programming job .
Listed below are the only courses that I took in computer science .
Programming 1 ( with c )
Programming 2 ( with C++)
Computer architecture.
Discrete structures
Data Structures ( with java ) %26amp;
Operating Systems
All the rest were Math, English and Electrical engineering stuff..
do you think i can get a job in the software field ?
Can I have a career in Programming ( Software engineering )?
If you're good at programming I don't see why not.
Reply:Exactly? Why become a programmer? So they will let you write 1000+ lines of code a day and blame you that the understaffed project is late? And then, when it works, they will lay you off, anyway?
What's your degree? What does it take to get the next higher one?
Reply:Look, if you have always dreamed of being a programmer, and do it in all your spare time, then become one. However there are FAR better IT jobs out there that you are well qualified for. Programming pays well, but with your quals, and especially a bit more study, you could double that.
Reply:You got one helluva academic background. How come you even have a doubt ? By the way you know more than enough in computer science to get a fresh programmer job. Electrical engineering helps too, you know anaytical, problem solving skills etc.
